Prime Timers' (50+) Game Night

It's sure to be a fun night of games and competition! Sign up at the Welcome Center and join the Prime Timers for an evening of board games. Please bring a snack to share with the crowd during the gathering.

Baptisms

  We will be baptizing those who would like to take this step of faith and obedience to Christ and proclaim in their baptism their repentance from sin and death, and their new life in Christ. If you would like to be baptized please contact Dave or sign up at the Welcome Center and we can discuss this vital step of obedience.  

Parents' Meeting

I would like to invite you to an informational get together on May 27th at The River Community Church shortly following Worship. We are going to change the structure of Kid's Church and we want you to be there to here about it. It will be a quick meeting (shouldn't go more than 15 or 20 minutes). We will have a couple of parents that will take the kids to the gym or playground during the meeting.

Help Finish Our Gym!

As many of you have heard, we have established a campaign to have $70,000 pledged by Memorial Day (and in hand by Labor Day), to finish our gym.

Please pray how you might partner in this endeavor;  may faith, generosity, and sacrifice mark our steps as we look to finish this facility...see more in the attached flyer.  Or pick a flyer up at the information table in the narthex. Or download it from the sidebar to the left where it will be posted.

And, remember, these pledged gifts should be above and beyond our regular giving...we had not budgeted this project, but sense God leading us to move forward to get it done by this fall.

Camp Crossing

Camp Genesis

This summer, The River Community Church will be holding a week-long day camp for
children entering 1st-6th grades (40 limit).The camp will be held June 18-22 from 9 am
until 4 pm. For those who need it, we will provide early and after hours. The week will be filled with a variety of activities...games, lively music, arts and crafts, as well as a teaching theme built around Moses and his great journey of faith as he led the Hebrew slaves out of Egypt. The campers will also participate in a community service project that will contribute to the betterment of our neighborhood. There will also be Camp Genesis at the Big White House. On Wednesday each camper can participate in Coralville's July 4th Parade and then enjoy a community wide BBQ at the BWH with their family. Those brochures can also be picked up at The River or downloaded here.

Trim for Dresses Needed

There is a group in Iowa City who is making pillow case dresses for the  Operation Christmas Child boxes – they are adorable!  They are hoping to make enough to put in each of the IC shoeboxes this fall.  Anyway, they are looking for donations of leftover ribbon, binding, rick rack, appliques…anything to embellish the dress.  So if you know of anyone who would like to clean out their sewing supplies, we can use it all…just drop it off on Ann's desk in the office.

Food Bank

Can you help us for a couple of hours a week? Contact Darlene at 325-8878 or Patti at 936-4335 if you can. Please place non-perishable donated items in the box in the foyer or in the fridge/freezer in the kitchen labeled for Food Bank. Cash donations are also welcome. Please pray for those being served, that they would have a  growing relationship with Jesus as Savior and Lord! Thank you for donating.

Michael Meyers from The River will be performing along with several others this Saturday, May 6th at 1016 Gilbert Court. There will be music and art from 1:00 pm when Michael plays til 6:00 pm. Only $5 donation for music and drinks.

The River is hosting A Blast From the Past this month. The speaker is Suzanne Berg talking about her journey from the party scene and mental breakdown to her ultimate joyful destination.
