Building Update

1.  We recorded 71 items to the food bank this week.  We are going for 1000 by Easter.  Keep up the good work

2.  The proposed budget has been posted by the office.  Check it out.  We will have a discussion and preliminary vote on the new Budget at 10:15 on Sunday, March 28.  The final vote will be at the Annual Business meeting of the church on Sunday April 25 at 10:15 am. 

3.  We missed our chance to pour new sidewalk at the West Entrance.  It snowed too soon.  As soon as the ground is thawed and ready, we will do it this spring.  

4.  The blue wall in the foyer and over the Baptistry is being repainted, a darker, navy color.  The foyer should be done before Sunday, the Baptistry next week.  A large Cross over the baptistry is being built.  

5.  We are working on new cabinets in the foyer, for the sign-up/welcome table, and for refreshments.  we will build up the area in the "v" and will soon call that the fountain area or the atrium.  

God has been good to us, allowing us to progress in our building upgrade.  We remember that the building is not an end in itself, it is a tool that we use to minister to people in need.  Praise God that He has allowed us lots of ministry and lots of needy people.  Please pray for the church, for your friends, and for people you don't know, that God will intervene in many lives for His glory.   

Annual Food Drive
1000 by Easter

We have challenged you to bring 1000 items for the food bank by Easter. We received 71 the first week. Remember when money is given, we count $1 as one item. We have four weeks to collect the remaining 929 items. We need fresh and canned meats, non green vegetables, etc. Pick up a list from the Welcome Center. Thank you for your ministry to those who need it.

Family Matters Business Meeting
10:15 am Sunday, March 28th

The fiscal year is ending for The River and the annual meeting is just around the corner (April 25th). So March 28th we will meet to discuss the budget which will be posted for you to look by March 14th. Take a look and come with your questions and comments about our stewardship for the next year and the ministry we have.

Spring Break

This is spring break March 14 - 20th for the area schools. There will be no youth activities this week.

Easter Schedule

We are celebrating together this year! Genesis and The River will celebrate Good Friday at the Big White House at 1246 12th Ave in Coralville and Easter at The River. See the schedule at the left for complete times and places. Bring your friends and families and join us!
