Ash Wednesday 7:00 pm February 17th The Big White House 1246 12th Ave. Coralville
Ash Wednesday is the first day of the Season of Lent. Lent is the season where we prepare, as one author states, "to celebrate God's marvelous redemption at Easter, and the resurrected life that we live, and hope for, as Christians." The author continues that Ash Wednesday "is a somber day of reflection on what needs to change in our lives if we are to be fully Christian." With these things in mind, we will hold an Ash Wednesday service at the Big White House at 7:00 p.m., February 17. May we gather with that kind of reflective spirit, listening to carefully to the Holy Spirit as He desires to work in our lives to re-create us more and more into the image of Christ in this beautiful process we call "sanctification." For some more background information on Lent and Ash Wednesday, you can check out this site: http://www.crivoice.org/cylent.html

The Crossing
The Crossing is an outreach to school age children in grades 4-6th. They meet on Thursday afternoons from 2:00 - 3:30 pm at The River. The afternoon consists of snack, dodgeball or one of many other games, and a lesson about Jesus. Steve Good, our Student Ministries director runs the program and Cathy Kruse is a regular helper. Please pray for this ministry, that other helpers would rise up, that kids would continue to come (there were 23 last Thursday!), and that the Gospel of Jesus Christ would be preached and received and that many would have open hearts and turn to Jesus in saving faith.
Martinson Update Campus Crusade for Christ
Chip and Lisa Martinson, U of Iowa CCC directors welcomed Emma into their home this last fall to join sister Lizzie. They are all doing well in spite of less sleep. They have several new believers on Campus and a couple are featured in their newsletter this month. Vince, Todd, Oz and Renji all became believers through being exposed to the gospel while at Iowa. Pray for the passion to spread through friends, concerts, meetings and exposure to his Word and for many more to place their faith in Jesus Christ.

PW Gopal is entertaining at The Big White House! P.W. Gopal knows that the stage is his place to be real and share glimpses of his life with crowds who are looking for authenticity from an artist. He comes as a prepared musician who has seen and experienced much of the same things in life that we've all lived through, and he'll leave you with a mark of familiarity, as if youve already known him for years. This is an evening of Worship and challenge as PW entertains us and will also speak on human trafficking.
