Volunteers Needed
The children's ministry could use a few more volunteers on a rotating basis on Sunday mornings. This is a great way to get to know the younger families and to serve. If you are interested in helping, please talk to Jen Kruse. Thanks!

Intervarsity - Lindsay Oelsberg Update
After 16 years of ministry and leadership in Iowa and the surrounding states, my time working on "the field" has come to an end. I now work at the national and international level. I will be working full time on the global Christian leadership congress, Cape Town 2010, sponsored by the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization. I will be overseeing the Bible Studies and teaching from the book of Ephesians (similar to my work on Urbana).
Since 1993, when I transferred from Los Angeles to Iowa, I have had the privilege of working with many fine InterVarsity staff and students. As a campus staff and then an Area Director, I invested directly in our ministry at the University of Iowa, Grinnell College, Coe College, and the University of Northern Iowa. As the Associate Regional Director, I've taught several generations of young staff how to teach the Scripture and how to develop student leaders. I am so grateful to God for all that ways I have witnessed his mighty work.
New campus chapters are being planted at an accelerated rate. This fall, an amazing number of students have come to know Jesus as their Savior. Tom Lin, the Regional Director, has assembled an excellent leadership team. I rejoice to see the ministry thriving! Here is a picture of the undergrads at Iowa engaging the public with the gospel.

Bartsch Update
Dickand Carla, would like prayer for:
- That we will know before we leave where we are soon if we will be able to return later as planned. If we can't return according to that schedule, we will need to stay in another country and buy new plane tickets.
- Good health and guideance for both of us as we serve.
- Safe travel by bus to visit an couple, who are friends and colleagues and that we'll be an encouragement and blessing to them.
- Healing of our daughter-in-law, Johanna's, broken arm -- she fell on December 24 and broke both lower arm bones near her left wrist -- and that she'll be able to care for Anneliese (age 2) and Eli (age 5 months) despite being limited by her cast. (The larger bone has a spiral fracture.)
- Safe travel for Justin later this month, during Chinese New Year, and God's guidance as he makes plans for his future.
