- Hope Incarnate
We will celebrate a candlelight service together with our friends from Genesis and your friends
and family. This is a great way to start Christmas together.
 Saturday, January 23
Evening worship begins
at The Big White House
The Big White House will begin to hold worship services on Saturday evenings on Saturdays starting in January. The messages will be the same as Sunday mornings at The River and at Genesis, but the music and experience will be slightly different. Come check it out on the 23rd! We'l let you know the time as we get closer to the date.
Youth Christmas Events
Wednesday, December 16th - 8:00 pm
Senior High
We will celebrate Christmas together on this fun Wednesday evening.
Then we will take a break for the holidays for the next two weeks
and everyone again in January!
Thursday, December 17th - 2 - 3:30 pm
The Crossing (4-6th grade)
Our after school program (about 15 kids so far) will have a Christmas
party with a small gift exchange, goodies and games. Then we will take a
break for the holidays until January also.
Other News
 Food Bank Update
I wanted to share some thoughts with you and let you know we are able to serve the needy families in our community. We are filling our shelves and freezer with contribution from the WILLOW WIND school, the Boy SCOUT drive, orders from HACAP and contributions from the congregation. Also a shopping trip with Carol and Claude Williams to Aldis. My special thanks to Patti Silvia for arranging the shelves and helping with families that come in for food . I want to thank the girls in the office--Ann and Carol or who ever is available and Pastor Gail and Pastor Dave for their support to this ministry in my absence due to a health condition called Shingles which has really taken me down. But because of the prayers, cards, calls for concern and healing, I am doing much better and I thank you all so much. My Blessing to you all.

2. Email notification (if possible) - Please contact us to be added to this e-mail list if you are not already on it.
3. Will be noted on phone answering machine (if possible) for callers.

New Facebook Groups
Converge Iowa City has Started a new Facebook Group. It's a great place to
see events happening through Converge Iowa City, like the open house, Saturday services starting at the BWH, work at Reclaiming Roots sites, etc. As a Facebook user, you can a post your ideas, pictures, and links that would be of interest to others in the group. Just look for the Converge Iowa City group under the search button and join us! There is also a group for The River Community Church, add us too! Don't have facebook? You may still be sent invites through email, but you might want to join!
