So far this Lenten season we have been looking at various "spokes" of our lives: Marital Health, Familial Health, Occupational Health, Financial Health, and Physical Health. We have discussed how all these spokes of our lives will become broken without Christ (the Hub of our Wheel) holding them together. The last spoke that we will address this Sunday is "Mental Health". In this teaching we will discuss how our minds were created "good" and that they were also created with the freedom to choose wisely....or poorly. We will look at how the failure to choose wisely (in the garden of Eden), has led to all sorts of mental health issues today. Our mental health is affected by our genetics, our environment (experiences), and even by spiritual oppression from the forces of evil at work in this world. We will explore how God can redeem our minds and transform them to be made more whole. We will also hear stories from those working with people who have struggled with mental health, as well as spiritual health issues. If you are struggling with thoughts that keep you from experiencing the joy of Christ, I encourage to come out this week and let the Light of Christ shine on the shady shadows of your mind. God wants to redeem your mind and your thoughts and liberate you through his grace and peace...that you may have joy!
