This was a good week for our foodbank. We got some major donations of meat from Table to Table and from HACAP. We got some tuna, green beans and corn from the foodbank in Coralville. We need to continue receiving funds to support this ministry. We don’t use any budget funds, only money that is designated for our foodbank. On another front, Barb reports (see the Bulletin next Sunday or our newsletter for the exact amount) that pledges for finishing our gym now total almost half of what we need. This is great. Thank you and Thank God. But we still have a ways to go. I am starting now to arrange for contractors to begin the work. Based on the money you have pledged, we can do most of the work. The last and most expensive item will be the floor and with it the baskets and the volleyball stands and net. Some of you have not made a commitment, others may still want to give a bit more. It may be that this time was too short and you could give more if you had more time. We understand this and will work with you however we can. It would be so nice to start the new ministry year with a new gym. We will only build as the money comes in. Wouldn’t it be great to see a finished gym when we gather for our annual meeting on August 26. One caution. Please don’t give money that would otherwise go to our regular budget. It does no good to finish the gym if we can’t pay the heat bill. God has been good to us in so many ways. Our income for the past 2 months has been about $1800 below our expenses.
